Well, I have spent the weekend trying to clean and organize my crafts. I have WAY TOO MANY projects going on at the same time.

I did manage to clean off the table - just in case I want to finish a baby quilt that has been in progress for about 3 months. Only thing left to do is the quilting and adding the binding - that's almost done, right?

I am nearly done with a pair of Swanklet socks made with Flat Feet Yarn. If you've never seen Flat Feet yarn, check it out at your LYS. Here is a picture of my second sock - in progress. The tie-dye block is the Flat Feet yarn - clever concept, to un-ravel to re-create!I am finishing the toe right now - so I should be done tonight.

Turbo Socks done

I've finished my Turbo Socks. I learned this technique in a class at Sarah Jane's Yarn Shoppe last month. Size 1 circular needes - 40 inches long - were used instead of double point needles. Quite a cool technique.

I used Opal Cotton yarn. Don't you just love the colors?

Swanklets Completed!

Check out these cool socks - called Swanklets! I found the pattern on Ravelry. Took me about a week to get the pair knitted up.

I took them to the Knit-In at my LYS, Sarah Jane's Yarn Shoppe on Friday night and they were a big hit.

The weather has been pretty hot and steamy here, so I am alternating between sitting in the air conditioned house, or on the shaded backyard deck. The deck is a great place to sit and knit. We have bird feeders and a couple of bird baths, so there is always activity.

Recently the new neighbor cut down almost all of the trees between their back yard and ours...Wow, what a change to actually see people!

Just got back from a (business) trip to Long Beach and Santa Monica California.

Just before I left, I finished a Peace Shawl for my friend Diane. She just had knee replacement surgery, so the shawl is a "warm hug" for whenever she needs one during the healing process.
The shawl is knitted on size 13 needles, so it worked up very quickly. The cats were happy with the quick progress....it gave them a warm nest whenever I put it down!

One of my promises to myself this years was to FINISH some of the many projects I have in progress.

Well, I've finished one! I started a quilt as a thank you gift for a friend.

"Vintage Memories" by Leslee Price is the pattern. I've chosen bright colors for this quilt. I wanted it to be "happy". The quilt is all hand pieced and hand quilted. It took about 3 months from beginning to end.
